GCU Esports partnered with Anya Littlefield and I to lead a team of 13 designers in developing a new collection of broadcast graphics and motion design assets for live esports events. Working within both GCU and GCU Esports brand guidelines, we were also challenged to draw creative inspiration from Marvel Rivals, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and contemporary comic-book art styles while creating a cohesive visual identity.

To organize the project, Anya and I divided the designers into four specialized teams, each focused on a specific category of graphics requested by the client. While serving as project leads, we were also active members of the design teams and shared responsibility for developing the project's creative assets alongside the other designers. Throughout the project, we managed timelines, delegated responsibilities, established weekly goals and expectations, assisted with design challenges, and maintained communication between our teams and the client. We also prepared weekly presentations to review progress, gather feedback, and ensure the work remained aligned with the client's vision.

This experience strengthened my ability to lead creative teams while balancing collaboration, organization, and client expectations. I learned how designers with different strengths and communication styles can work together to create a cohesive product, as well as how clear communication, constructive feedback, and iteration can transform a client's vision into an effective visual experience. Ultimately, the project gave me valuable experience in creative leadership, project management, client communication, and collaborative design.
